The following regularly scheduled events will earn DOUBLE POINTS: BOTH events (DYP and BYP) on any Double Event Saturday during the Race, and any Split-Draws or Limited Doubles events during the race.
THE RACE WILL RUN FROM AUGUST 27TH THROUGH NOVEMBER 20TH.
These events will earn DOUBLE POINTS for different reasons.
The Double Event Saturdays will earn DOUBLE POINTS so players with limited opportunity to play in Jacksonville can maximize their points earning potential by getting credit for FOUR events in ONE DAY!
The Beginner-Oriented events will earn DOUBLE POINTS so our less experienced players can see their own potential in the Race, AND to reward the more experienced players that choose to participate in Beginner-Oriented events.
Points will be earned as follows, in a non-doubled event:
1st place= 10 pts
2nd place= 9 pts
3rd place= 8 pts
4th place= 7 pts
5th+place= 5 pts
As you can see, ALL PARTICIPANTS will earn at least 5 pts for each event they play. Don't forget that there will be ELEVEN events that earn DOUBLE POINTS, and THREE opportunities with TWO DOUBLE POINTS EVENTS on the same day!!!!
There will also be eleven events in the race with standard points. These events will be the ones that our locals, and players who don't always make the podium, can use to help their Points Race effort!
So players of differing skill levels can participate, there will be THREE DIVISIONS of play. Based on our local handicap scale, the divisions will be: 4's and up,3's (our biggest group), and anyone rated 1-2.
Each division will have a Division Winner that will earn $100!!
Each division will also have AT LEAST four players qualify for the Points Race Final.
Additionally, there will be a LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER on November 18th. At least two players from the LCQ will earn spots in the Points Race Final. The LCQ event will be a HANDICAPPED SPLIT-DRAW to guarantee that we draw from both ends of the experience/skill spectrum.
The Points Race Final will have at least 16 participant slots available. If we have 25 or more participants in the Race, we will expand the Final to 32 qualifiers. If we do expand the field to 32 qualifiers, we WILL increase the number of qualifiers in each division.
Our goal is to get as many participants into the Points Race Finals as possible. It is NOT our goal to exclude anyone who makes a serious effort to participate.
The Points Race Final will begin on Saturday, November 19th and conclude on the 20th. Since we're asking everybody to be here for 2-3 days, there will also be several other events to keep us occupied!!!!
