JTSPA, Inc. now an OFFICIAL Non-Profit Organization!

As of August 1st, 2010 JTSPA is an officially documented 501c, Non-Profit Organization.

This means that any donations to us will be TAX DEDUCTIBLE!

In addition, we will be trying to establish partnerships with local schools (JU, UNF, ITT Tech, local high schools, etc.) to get student interns to help us with our web-site, foos videos and general office and accounting jobs.

This is a big step forward for us. One that I hope will help us build JTSPA into a strong organization, capable of hosting several big foosball tourneys every year.

As always, we will continue to support the Hubbard House.

We always welcome interested volunteers to help us with our efforts to increase the interest in local foosball and helping Northeast Florida. Those interested can contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

BIG LOCAL TOURNEY ON HORIZON?

Lately, there's been some talk of hosting a multi-event tourney at UBC. I've been reluctant to make that commitment due to the recent poor turnouts we've been getting. In the past, half to two-thirds of the payout was paid for by local players' entry fees. Without a strong local turnout, we MUST have a big commitment from sponsors. This commitment is increased by the payouts required to bring most of the participants in from out of town.

I'll get the ball rolling on tournament formats and flyers, but we'll need to see some strong sponsorship dollars committed before we can set a solid date. For the time being, we're looking at October or November for a potential date.

If you want to help us, you can recruit potential sponsors.  Any money donated will be split evenly between tournament payout and the Hubbard House. The recruiter that brings in the most sponsor dollars will receive a package deal for the tourney*.   *=Recruiter's total sponsor dollars must exceed $200. $1000 in sponsor dollars will get any recruiter a "full boat" package for EVERY EVENT, including registration.

Local Results for Fireball Kickoff

Well, the Fireball Tour Kickoff event is over and J-ville was well represented. Some of the results are still pending, but from the completed and posted events we've got Rory Wiseman getting second in Novice singles, Rory and Ben Davis got FIRST IN Novice Doubles and Paul Ledger and Ben finishing second in OPEN DOUBLES. Good job guys!

Our points race got those three, and Jimmy Kirby down to South Florida for this first US event for the Fireball Table. Many thanks to the points race participants AND to Tyler Tornello, who donated $200 that was used to provide accommodations for our traveling team.

Fireball Kickoff Points Race Standings

With three events completed, there are four players competing for four package deals. That means the points race is just for bragging rights!

Rory Wiseman: 12 pts

Ben Davis: 12 pts

Jimmy Kirby: 10 pts

Paul Ledger: 7 pts

The last chance for these players to earn points will come Saturday, June 5th during the BYP portion of our BYP/DYP Double Up.

Fireball Points Race Update 2

Well, thanks to Tyler Tornello it looks like we'll be able to provide $200 worth of hotel money for our Fireball Kickoff Package winners!

If money was the issue before, more of our players should be able to consider this event. Now you could win a package deal AND get all or most of the hotel bill covered too! That just leaves the cost of getting there, extra events and spending money to the individual players!

Thanks again Tyler!!!!
